Cultivating a thriving community
Since our early cohort in 2021, Open Impact has grown alongside a global network of practitioners, researchers, and community-based organizations shaping how the platform evolves in practice. Today, it supports 300+ organizations and networks across 70+ countries, spanning more than 1,000 projects. This growth reflects a shared effort to strengthen coordination, learning, and access to aligned capital across sectors including ecological restoration, food systems, community wellness, the built environment, and climate action. Through fellowships, regional pilots, and collaborative convenings, participants are not only using the platform—they are helping define how it works.
Recent efforts include supporting cooperative market access for small farmers, coordinating youth-led, landscape-scale ecological restoration, and enabling portfolio-wide reporting for community-directed funds. These are not isolated initiatives, but part of a broader shift toward more connected, community-defined systems. Open Impact is designed to support that shift—linking projects, surfacing shared insights, and helping resources move more effectively across regions, while communities retain agency over how their work is defined and supported.
